Born in Bucharest, Romania, and raised in a family of artists, Yoana Baraschi, was immersed in art and style and culture from a very early age. After studying fine arts and sculpture, she left communist Romania for Paris, where she worked for Emmanuelle Khahn as an embroidery designer, later relocating to NYC and serving as Creative Director for Betsey Johnson. In 2002, the designer launched her own collection of bold feminine designs inspired by her European roots.
