The recipient of the 2017 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers, designer Marine Serre launched her first collection, ‘15-21’, during her fourth year at La Cambre Mode in Brussels. Fuses futuristic sportswear with sumptuous 19th-century European and Arabic garments for her fall 2017 collection, titled "Radical Call for Love", her Fall/Winter collection features a recurring crescent moon motif, that speaks to the coexistence of Arab and western cultures.
Voluminous skirts and deconstructed button-downs lend a feminine touch to sportswear-inspired stretch jersey t-shirts and vests, while dresses and jumpsuits in wool and moiré are boldly juxtaposed with second-skin bodysuits. Vinyl gloves, sock boots, and hybrid pieces evoke a futuristic vision, while knit headbands and collars reiterate the athletic spirit behind the collection.
